Welcome to the Royals!

Welcome!

Congratulations…your child has been drafted by the Tavares Royal Blue team!! While there is no $10 million signing bonus in store for your child at this point, I assure you that I will do everything I can, at the very least, to insure that your child has a great experience while learning the basic rules of baseball. Listed below is some general information that I think you will be interested in and find helpful. Please read over it and feel free at any time to ask any questions that you may have. I look forward to and thank you for the opportunity to work with your child!

What you and your child can expect:

My No. 1 priority for our team is the safety of everyone involved. Thereafter, I would say that the next most important things to me are raising the children’s self-esteem by building their confidence, teaching them good sportsmanship and how to work together to accomplish a common goal, and insuring that they have an overall great experience learning this game.

My hope is that each one will thoroughly enjoy themselves and will want to continue playing baseball as they grow and mature.

What you can do at home to help your child’s development:

Practicing the basics with your child at home will go a very long way in raising their confidence and helping them to improve their skills. If you don’t already have a bat and baseballs, Wal-Mart carries foam balls that come in a six-pack for five dollars. They are great…kids can knock them a mile and you never have to worry about broken windows! You can find them in the toys with the outdoor games. An inexpensive, plastic bat works great with these. You can also practice throwing, catching, and running bases with your child. These are all the things we will be covering during our practices and games.

See you at the field!
